Rest Day

Today is a rest day. I know it is a little different than the 3 on 1 off cycle but it works for us right now.

If you must get a work out in then go to the football field and do a good warm up followed by 5 x 40 meter sprints and 5 x 100 meter sprints. Go all out on each attempt and rest at least 3 minutes between each one. Your quads are sure to be fried.

Get some rest today, it is going to be a busy week coming up.

Cindy

Complete as many rounds in 20 minutes as you can of:

5 Pullups

10 Pushups

15 Squats

Post number of rounds to comments.

Cindy is one of my favorite WODs. It is a great workout to judge your improvement in these exercises over time. Squats of course are done without weight. Remember to get full extension on the pullups and pushups, don't cheat yourself.

Have fun, enjoy this WOD you will see it often.

"Nicole"

Complete as many rounds in 20 minutes as you can of:

Run 400 meters

Max Reps of Pullups

Post number of Pullups per round to comments.

Since the city is working on the alley that we normally use for our 400m runs, just use the Treadmills today. Remember to set the incline to 1.5 or 2. Just so there isn't any confusion 400m is .25 on the TM.

If you need to scale the runs back use the short block around the bus station, do band assisted Pullups or jumping pullups according to your ability.

You will no doubt notice that some of the WODs will have names. This is a CF tradition and these workouts serve as benchmark WODs that you can repeat over time and see how you improve in your abilities. These workouts are no joke and neither are the women that they are named after. You can see them on the CrossFit main page performing seemingly impossible workouts day after day. My personal favorite is Nicole ;) . Glad you didn't get hurt on that miss. Watch the video at www.crossfit.com .

Have a great day! Have a wonderful weekend!

Rest Day!

Today is our normal rest day. Because of everyone's work and weekend schedule, plus the gym is closed on Sunday) we do a CF type WOD on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. As your ability to work harder and generate more intensity improves the rest days will be greatly appreciated and sometimes, dare I say, even looked forward to.

Enjoy your rest!!!! You never know what tomorrow will bring.

Under Construction

A Work in Progress; Please Be Patient With Me.

There will be a WOD (workout of the day) posted here everyday.

As this is my first website it is going to take me a little time to get it tweaked exactly like I want it but it is going to be freakin awesome. It is for everyone to use, blog, post times and weights for your workouts and serve as an online log so you can reference back when we repeat a workout to see how you have improved.

Any ideas are appreciated and as soon as I get a digital video carmera we will have vids posted.

I encourage everyone to use the site and support each other. Nothing brings people together like suffering through a workout together.

Thanks again for your interest and enthusiasm. CrossFit Uvalde is here to break down all the junk science and show you how maximize your time in the gym and get the greatest gains possible. Limits only exist in your mind and with a little intensity your body will transform before your eyes.

Thanks,

Ron
